If everything I do in my private life is up for their scrutiny and judgement - I donāt think anything the GB does is off limits for bringing to peoples attention.
When the GB learns to keep their noses out of peoples personal lives they will deserve the same respect, until then I wish I could hire a PI to follow the GB around and expose every last hypocrital thing they do.
when i post i try to imagine that i am at a social gathering or sometimes in someone's house as a dinner guest.
that way it is easier to follow the community guidelines and posting rules set out on the site at the bottom of the page.
i wouldn't want to make a fool of myself in public.
Of course the forum changes over time because we change over time. When I first came here I was young, scared, broken, still believing I would be killed for leaving the JWs.
Now Iām in my mid 40ās, career, marriage, life have all carried me along my path. Iām no longer young, scared or broken.
You are supposed to grow and change, challenge beliefs that donāt serve you any longer, adopt new ones as new evidence presents itself. And keep going down your path......

Any organization thatās isnāt financially transparent is a target for financial abuse. There is no accountability so they can spend whatever they want, and make up whatever āexpensesā they see fit.

i am just wondering how you have constructively worked through the emotions of waking up?
i am trying hard to be positive, and i know life is a gift.
I volunteered at the animal shelter and habitat for humanity when I was dealing with waking up. I also joined rec league sports - volleyball and softball. I made new friends at both - I got the satisfaction of helping with the volunteer work.
most every night, where i work i transport dead persons to the morgue.
others i work with have told me that around 3:00am they hear voices in the morgue.. i asked them have they experienced something more than physical life?
just the voices inside the cold morgue.
Hmm thereās a few people Iād like to haunt after iām dead.......
i haven't been posting here much lately, i think i only created one topic in 2018!
but this is worth it.. i am a grandfather š.

i have to say that iām not enjoying the xmas season.
i have no emotional ties and iām spending money that i have not set aside for xmas during a slow work season for my trade.. iām not happy about it, because itās foolish to spend money when you arenāt making any.
then i feel like iām expected to do all this, and to be happy about spending money and time on persons that iām not that involved with.
I love it - but the focus isnāt on presents. Most adults in our circle of friends donāt exchange presents. We buy gifts for my great nieces and nephews, send money to my nieces and nephews, but there isnāt any pressure to do so. We do not go into debt. I tell my nieces and nephews to just send us pictures instead of gifts.
I love the tree and having ornaments that have memories attached to them. Christmas parties with silly games and ugly sweaters are also fun.
Sometimes my husband and I exchange presents, but most of the time we buy something bigger for us both, like a trip or furniture or something.
We donāt allow Christmas to become a crazy stressful holiday.

i have been working so hard to build my faith this year, and i am finally at the point where i am beginning to trust god and i want to build an unbreakable relationship with him.
I donāt know what she was going through in the past, maybe she didnāt value herself, maybe she just liked having sex. Your comment about āif we had a relationship it wouldnāt matter to her more than anyone elseā is naive. If she loves you, your relationship already means more to her than any of her non-relationship encounters. Sex doesnāt = love, and your relationship should be based on a lot more than sex.
She deserves to be with someone who can accept her past and all, and not judge her or try to make her out as somehow damaged. Just because you have different morals doesnāt make you superior.

banks donāt take deposits and donāt lend money.the public is under this false impression on purpose because the language of banks is not legal language.. so--what is a ādepositā?a deposit is not actually a deposit.
I was once Vice President of a Bank and was responsible for managing our liquidity. Banks canāt just make money out of thin air. There is a balance between how much of your deposits on hand you can loan out, how much are kept in overnight funds (invested overnight), how much is in short term investments. Also you have to manage the loan terms and your deposit terms. If a bank makes too many long term fixed rate loans but doesnāt match that up with long term fixed rate deposits it can be disastrous. In this scenario your deposits would reprice faster than your loans resulting in greater costs(interest paid to customers on deposits) than income ( interest paid to the bank on loans.)
The interest charged on loans vs the interest paid out on deposits is the spread which a bank pays its operating costs from. If the bank doesnāt have the loan volume needed then they invest the extra deposits to bring in more income. Obviously this is the simplified version, but at no point does the bank make money out of thin air.
There are regulations that limit what types of investments the bank can use in order to protect deposits. Banks are always trying to push the envelope on what investments qualify to increase their profits.
